MICRO-NEEDLING/ COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY

Skin Needling, or Collagen Induction Therapy, is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure used to treat skin conditions such as wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, pigment reduction and stretch marks. The procedure involves the use of a device that contains tiny needles used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This process encourages the skin's natural healing system to repair itself by producing new collagen and elastin, as well as triggers the release of growth factors. This method, known as neovascularization and neocollagenesis, leads to improvement in skin texture and firmness, reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks. It is the basic mechanism found in Lasers and IPL but instead of using heat or light to cause photorejuvenation, it breaks up pigment mechanically and remodels the collagen without resorting to heat or light. The advantage of skin needling is that it causes less damage to the epidermis and results in less downtime. Most importantly, skin needling, is safe for ALL skin types.

Dr. Scemla utilizes the latest, medical-grade, state of the art technique. Her device has three times more needles than any other device, allowing it to glide smoothly across the skin’s surface. She begins by applying a prescription topical anesthetic and selects the appropritate skin regimen and needle depth for each patient. The approach creates thousands of superficial micro-channels every second, allowing topical serums and creams to be effectively absorbed into the skin. The process activates cellular regeneration while simultaneously delivering Hyaluronic Acid (HA) – the building blocks of healthy new skin. Your customized treatment will result in reduction of wrinkles, fine lines, pores size and scars, improved skin texture and tone and an overall younger, rejuvenated look. Several treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart are n
ecessary for best results.
